Re: Stuck ramrod
Well, I finally got it out!! I got enough powder stuffed down the breach and set it off! The ramrod went about a foot in the ground. I am so happy! Love this rifle. Now I have to try and find another .45 caliber ramrod. Thanks for all the help and support in this trying time. ><> del

I have a T/C Hawken .45 cal. I was shooting a week or so back and after a shot, I ran a patch down the barrel. It stuck and I mean it stuck!! We managed to break the ramrod. I have tried shooting it out and no luck. I have soaked it with several different liquids and it is stuck. We tried using vise...

Homemade patch lube
I am going to start using a patched round ball in my .45 T/C Hawken. Hope I can workup load for it. Ok, I bought some pillow ticking at Walmart to use as a patch. I washed it and dried it. What do y'all use as lube? Do y'all have a recipe? How do y'all get the lube into the patch? Rub it in or pour ...

CVA Bobcat conversion
I have a .50 caliber CVA Bobcat percussion rifle. Like a silverback gorilla, I stripped and broke the drum off of the barrel. I didn't want to break it but I did. I need to get the rest of the drum out. It won't be a problem. I had an idea!! Scary huh. Can I convert the percussion ignition to a flin...

Barrel wedges
I have a question. Probably doesn't matter but what side do they go on? From left to right while looking down the barrel or right to left? I heard one time that they go left to right while looking down the barrel. Anyone have an opinion or can someone say for a fact one way or the other? Thanks. Del

Re: Starting.point for. 45 cal
Speaking of Jukar and CVA, I have a Jukar and a CVA Bobcat. I twisted the drum off of the bobcat today. I have to remove it and get another drum. The Jukar needs another drum as well as a nipple. I need a butt plate and pins for the Jukar too. I want a .50 or .54 long rifle.

Thank you sir! I broke my neck 2 years ago and had to sell all my hunting gear to pay the bills. I am starting to acquire more smoke poles. Traded a trail cam for a cva bobcat. It was a mess. I stripped the stock and refinished it. It shoots where I point it though. I lapped the barrel and got some ...
