Re: Black hunter longbow
A mate has one, reckons it's pretty good all things considered. He does say it stacks a little at his draw length though.

Success!
Finally got around to looking at the trigger mechanism on my Dikar ( CVA ) hawken the other day, since I've owned it it's always had a super heavy, virtually unusable front trigger unless it's set, which is a bit of a pain and is super light,to the point of being dangerous. Turns out theres a little sc...

Fox Hunt
Had a cracker headache this morning so decided to take my boy out for a hunt. Was hoping to find deer, instead found this fox being chased around by a kangaroo. Lip squeaked him in from 200m to 10m and delivered a .495 ball to his frontal lobe from my Dikar caplock. Good times

Re: Teaspoons and Tomato Stakes
I shoot a fair bit of stuff,I just don't take a lot of photos. I shot this goat near Palmer in South Australia. We don't have river cane here, these are literally tomato stakes I nabbed from work. The trade points from teaspoons are nothing new,but I've not seen too many people actually use them. Rea...

Teaspoons and Tomato Stakes
Realised a bit of a dream last week of taking an animal with all homemade equipment barring the bow. Shot was from 20 paces and the goat travelled about 50m. Bow is a PNG black palm longbow about 60-65#. Arrows are tomato stakes fletched with turkey feathers from a work mate. Broadheads were made fr...

Re: Conicals in a smooth bore
I believe my shot charge is around 650gn,powered by 65gn of 2f. Its a nice mild load,as is my round ball load with the same charge. I have used 90gn 2f under the above amount of shot,it had a fair bit of kick but really didn't hit that much harder. As I plan to use the minies if I get them on large ...

Conicals in a smooth bore
Just been looking at track of the wolf today and I saw their .690 minies for sale. I'm curious as to how well they might shoot in my 12 bore shotgun. Has anyone tried this ?
