Re: Show us your knives...

Nice knives everyone!! I have several that I've done and have a few neckers started (don't know that they will be done in the very near future.) My grandpa passed away and the forge (old hand crankd - we used coke to heat the blades then a mineral oil bath for quench and other steps) and equipment w...

Re: Your Stand Preference and Why?

I hunted from tree stands for years but have gone nearly to ground blinds exclusively. As strange as it may sound I have been more successful from natural groundblinds than tree stands.

My experience is that elk and deer have learned to look up.

As has been said "glad you are OK".

It looks like the deer pretty much hugged the bumper then down and around. Thank goodness it didn't launch through the window!

I like the above heads but use the 145 gr eclipse for everything. Overall arrow weight I shoot for is around 700gr.

Great build along. Cool Photos! THANK YOU.

Does the canary wood keep the yellow look as it ages?

Is there anything that can be done with OSAGE to keep the yellow? I do like the caremelized look of the osage as it ages, but I also really like the Yellow it has when it is first worked with!

Re: how many going with the bow for spring turkey?

I finally drew a turkey tag in Utah. I've been chasing bunnies all winter and feel pretty good about the spring turkey.

Any pointers from anyone?

I believe I want to make a portable blind to use. Otherwise I may need to borrow my buddies double bull.

Good luck to you all!

Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I am assuming you are talking about shooting an American Bison. If so, I am sure that you will get many more & better responses than mine. I have been an observer or participant in the demise of 6 American Bison. I believe that they are a critter best killed with a...

Rabbits were scarce (until late in the day)

The day after Thanksgiving my good friend "Preacher" and I decided to meet for a rabbit hunt. Some of the Teenagers wanted to sleep in. We were to meet sometime just after 10:00 AM, but got our locations crossed. I was coming from Wyoming, where I had been visiting family. Preacher was leaving our v...
