What is your hobby?

Besides hunting what is your favorite pastime, hobby, etc.

Outside of hunting I play indoor soccer.

I love bowhunting/bowbuilding but my other pursuits, in no particular order, are: Motorcycle Trials (AHRMA Trials National Champ 2003) and MX; Flyfishing (includes rod building);jogging; and everything else is work.

I'm new here, so I'll fill y'all in a bit about me. I'm a Registered Maine Guide and Bamboo Rodmaker, living and working in Maine. Originally from West Virginia, I'm married and have two daughters, age 4&5. My personal hobbies and interests revolve around the outdoors. Hunting with traditional archery gear and trad muzzleloaders, flyfishing with bamboo flyrods, canoeing, camping, these are my favorites. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about outdoor activities up here in Maine. I'll be glad to help in any way I can.

hi all myself I love the hunting like all then it's goes to fishing, then to shooting pool & bowling! I'm from Ohio was born In W.VA I hunt elk in Idaho will be there on Sept 12 2008 for 2 weeks,

I like a multitude of things, but my main hobbies are outdoor related. Hunting with bows, guns, blackpowder or anything else.

I make laminated longbows once in awhile.

I also teach karate and have been training in Isshinryu karate for 30 years.

I like to play Pool a couple of times a week, I have lot's to learn on the Pool table.
And since I'm on Social Security and I like to Eat I try to make Traditonal Archery Leather goods and sell them....

Well I quess I may be the odd one in the bunch. When I am not hunting/fishing, I build wooden boats. Keeps my nerves, eyes and hands steady.

I like to flyfish, ski, snowshoe, mess with my horses, build arrows and play ice hockey.

I enjoy golf during the summer months when hunting is at a low point. I think there's quite a few similarities between shooting a longbow and hitting a golf ball. Both take practice, patience, and a burning desire to kill something every once in a while!

outside of archery I guess I am doing whatever my kids are at the time. Right now we are flag football (son) and dance (daughter). Typcial taxi driver during the school year but we always make sure we get in our family time together.

Besides hunting with Trad muzzleloaders, I am an avid waterfowler and upland hunter. When hunting season is over, I train dogs with a buddy of mine, participate in UKC HRC(Hunter Retriever Club) hunt tests, tie flies and go fly fishing. I also fish out of a kayak. Have even built a couple of fly rods. The wife and I also enjoy camping. We have 33' pull behind camper. I stay pretty busy!!! Life goes by too fast not to enjoy it!!!

I have several "hobbies" these days. I do a good bit of woodworking (I build replicas of Shaker furniture) and also things like Rocking Horses, Wagons and other toys for kids; I do some guitar picking, playing a Martin D-18 built in 1959 (Mostly Bluegrass, but some traditional Country too); I love handgunning and do some long range shooting with revolvers in the way of Elmer Keith (I do a lot of handloading); of course I build all my own arrows and strings and have done a few selfbows from Osage; I love to read, I teach a Sunday School Class for Seniors, I go to a gym regularly, and when I can, I like to visit with my children and grandchildren. I am a single senior citizen and live in an apartment complex with many other seniors- I serve as President of the tenant council here and when all else is finished, I have a Rat Terrier named "Rowdy" who is just under 2 years of age----he is my constant companion and takes up any spare time I can find.

The entire traditional muzzleloading thing is my hobby. I shoot(A LOT) year round, make my own guns, clothes and gear, tan my own hides, in addition I fish a little, Deer hunt(traditional ML only) duck and goose hunt and the occasional ditch chicken(pheasant) and I will be shortly getting a BP 10 guage so I can combine the fowl hunting with the BP hobby/addiction. not to mention going about 50 shoots a year between about 4 different clubs and other statewide shoots.

i tie handtied flies for fishing, i fish, i trap, i practice my dulcimer, i cook, i backpack , i travel and practice my archery, i knapp flint, make arrowheads and spear points, i love garage sales, and i shoot my bows and crossbow pistols and sometimes i work, but i dont like parking meters paying to play video games or overbearing politicians or tv preachers

I'd have to say my biggest hobby is building bows and arrows. Possibly my guide service would be considered a hobby since no money is brought in. Actually the guide service is trying to put my friends on a Kansas Whitetail or a Rio Tom.
