I couldnt find a section on traditional leather crafts so Ill post this here.
I spend a lot of my time making my own traditional gear.
Here are some hunting bags Ive made.
I use bobcat,grey fox,coon, etc.

Man you are gifted. Any chance you'd do a build-a-long? Or how to type post? Do you sell any of your work? I wish I had your talent man. Those bags are beautiful.

Thanks Allan for the kind words.
I dont sale them.
I usually just give them away or I give them to organizations for fund raising or raffles.
I can do a post where I do a bag from start to finish.
I use the book: Recreating the 18th century hunting pouch, by T.C. Albert.

You've got talent for sure. I admire but at times envy guys that have the skill and patience to do work like that. I have a long time friend that can make anything and his leather work is beautiful. Every time I visit he has something new and amazing to show. Too cool....

wow guys im truly impressed, i do a little leather work, or have in the past, making a possibles bag about 2o years ago, but nothing like the stuff ive seen here... unfortunately im allergic to most types of fur, deer fur and rabbit and cat. its a bother, yes, but even so i admire those people who work with it ...and produce high quality items..wow

That is cool stuff. I do leathercarving and have made several things to include quivers, bible covers, knife sheaths, etc. As soon as I get my computer set up I will post some pictures.SnS

Hi Tommyg I see that you do beautiful leather works. I noticed in the first picture that you are wearing leather boots. Is this prom plans or did you just make them from scratch> If you did make them from plans could you share them please? Steve

my experience with leather is limited, but it doesn't take a genius to see the beauty in some of those gear setups!
