I like to have a cold Coors light on the bench when I'm doing a bow glue up..... the cold...uh... helps the glue...uh.... not to stick ...uh..yeah that's it...the glue won't stick to the cold rubber glove.
I've saved a few bottles for a friend that brews his own. does that count?

I used to make wine but haven't for a long time. My only experience with beer making came to a tragic end when a couple cases of bottled beer blew up in the shop.
What a horrifying mess!!!

looks like this post fell off a while ago but I had to chime in........there is always something bubbling in the pantry!!! I like my hand crafted ale all year round and I have a special gift for family and friends for the holidays..... fine aged hard cider..... there is nothing more refreshing!

Well, I hav'nt tried my hand at beers and ales however, I have vinted a couple of passable red table wines and a few batches of hard apple cider and apple wines. I currently have a small batch of cider that will be racked into bottles this weekend, sampling at first racking showed promising signs of a nice dry cider (12.5% abv) with caramel notes at the end.

I finally have my latest batch of hard cider in the bottles, it has a crisp clean flavor. It is still on the green side, and hopefully will mellow some more over the next few weeks/months. Its rounding out to be more of an apple wine but that's fine with me. Ralph I'll see about getting you a sample at OJAM this spring

Does the process involve combining the ingredients at a very high temperature and then rapidly cooling part of it? Think Popcorn Sutton.

Nope just mixing and fermenting, takes about 2 weeks. I hit the "1" by mistake it's only 80 Proof, he makes the warm apple pie also which is about 40 proof.zeek from coon creek wrote:Greywolf wrote:My new son-in-law, is teaching me how to make "Hot Apple Pie" it's a 180 proof holiday drink. it'll double as gasoline with you run out LOL

Well I, for one, am looking forward to sampling some of these homemade concoctions. Sounds like good stuff. See all you distributors at OJam X

Brew now and again. Have a friend who does 25 gallons of whole grain at a time.
