Wood arrow spine

Post by gesthuntn » Mon Dec 23, 2019 7:32 pm

What spine wood arrows would I need for this bow? The specs are 40lb@28 and I draw right at 28. I would like to shoot broad heads between 160 and 200 grains. The bow is a Old Mountain Mesa sole by 3 Rivers Archery.

Get a spine kit from 3 Rivers for the arrows you want to shoot, with some below and some above the 40 lb. they will give you 2 arrows in each weight of spine in 5 # increments. So maybe 30-35, 35-40, 40-45, 45-50. Of course you might end up like me, where it doesn't seem to matter and I use them all for target practice, and they all fly the same....

And welcome to TradRag!

I would start with the spine calculator on the Three rivers site and enter all your information. My guess would be somewhere near 50 lb spine with that much weight up front. Start out with 30” length. :archer2:
