A&H Archery is your source for high-performance bows incorporating the patented ACS limb design (U.S. Patent No. 6,718,962).

Why use a traditional bow for hunting or for target shooting?

Using a traditional bow is a personal choice, but how do you know if it is the right one for you? Perhaps it's because you have tired of the relative ease with which trophies are gained when using guns or compounds. Perhaps it's because you appreciate the extra challenge of target shooting with a traditional bow instead of a fully-equipped compound. It takes more skill to hunt with a traditional bow or to target shoot with a traditional bow.

At A&H Archery, these are some of the reasons why we have chosen this time honored form of shooting. Traditional shooting is not the easy way. The challenges are greater, but because of that, the rewards are that much sweeter.

Join a close knit community of archers.

If you are already a member of the traditional archery brotherhood then welcome. No explanation is needed. Perhaps you are visiting our website because you have heard of the performance difference offered by ACS bows. The incremental performance gained by using the patented ACS limb design is real. It creates a better bow. But then, you probably already knew that.

If you are new to the ACS advantages, please peruse our bow test page. We back up our claim of performance with actual proof and published test results. If you want to read more about bow performance, please check out our discussion of defining performance.

If you haven't yet made the switch to using a traditional bow, but are thinking about it, great! If you make the switch you will find yourself in the company of the finest sportsmen and sportswomen on the face of the earth. As evidenced by their choice of traditional archery, each chooses to maximize the challenge of the hunt or the competition. You won't find more dedicated conservationists or competitors than those among our ranks.

The ACS Difference
Using cross-sectional geometries that are different from conventional bows, we can make our limbs stronger and stiffer without having to make them thicker or wider.

ACS limbs weigh less than conventional limbs. Less mass in the limbs means that more of the stored energy goes into the arrow where it belongs and less is wasted by accelerating useless limb mass forward. For a more in-depth discussion of bow performance please visit our performance pages.

Performance isn’t all about speed, although carefully measuring draw weight, draw length, arrow mass, and then using a shooting machine and chronograph to test our bows enables us to objectively measure the benefits of various designs. We are dedicated to offering our customers the highest-performing bows possible.

Using an ACS bow enables the archer with a shorter draw to equal the arrow speed of someone with a longer draw. If the archer wants to reduce draw weight, using an ACS bow may allow the archer to drop 5-10# (and in some cases more) and still shoot the same arrow the same speed.

If the archer wants to draw the same weight, the same arrow will fly faster and hit harder with an ACS. Remember - THERE IS NO DOWNSIDE TO INCREASED PERFORMANCE.

Finally, a bow must be a pleasure to shoot. The grip should fit comfortably and predictably into the hand of the archer. It should feel like an extension of the archer’s arm.

A good bow should be smooth on the draw and feel absolutely free of vibration and shock upon the loose.

Our bows offer all of this plus great performance.

If you want to experience performance at a level beyond almost any other bow, please let us put one in your hands!
