Very nice looking gun. Love that Berber camo on the barrel too, blends right in. ;)

Seriously though, barrel and wood both look great.

Dude, itsa flinter 54 GP. Sa long as she's a 1-60 twist and not that new "hunter fast twist?" she's gonna drive tacks :D

I haven't had a chance to get out shooting her yet,but It is in my plans sometime in the next week or so! She does have the 1 in 60 twist, so i'm sure if I do my part she will drive tacks !I've always wanted to switch to flinters and with the wealth of info on here i decided it was time!! thanks everyone for the nice comments!!

For a first shootin with her that looks great!

I know all rifles are different but I settled in on 85grs of 3F real BP with mine and filed my front site down between shots until I got her where I wanted her (Lyman gives ya plenty tall fronts to file on) I use walmart pilla tickin and a lil bees wax mixed with good ol fashioned LARD as a patch lube on a honrady .530 round ball. I cut my patch at the barrel..... it'll clover leaf at 75yds no problem. Last winter down La. I was hitting 5 gallon buckets in a hey field consistantly at 175yds with it. And when the wind was calm I managed 3 out of five at 200yds.

They may not be Merican made like TCs. may not be custom. But I'll be john brown if them Lyamn GP rifles will flat out shoot.

I swindled my way in to a lil CVA 32. I think Camo Cowboy had it first. And he did a helluva refinish job on it. But I htink I actually may go ahead and return her to my likings. Dunno yet. man he didda jam up browining job on the barrel. almost seems a shame to take it off.

I,ve had her out several more time since the first shoot! she really likes teaseing me! I'm still in the learning stages of rock locks and getting to know her better each time out! So far she likes primer powder level in the pan and not to much, about a third! she also likes a couple spit patches between shots! i'm still working with the flints and have three different kinds to try, The first one that came with her ,I only got maybe 10 shots with! I need to learn how to knap these things to get more use out of them! I had delvoped a flintch from the pan flashes i was getting in the begining but getting this under control now! some of the guys at the gun club really got interisted in this gun and are now thinking of getting into flinters! My last trip out I brought my cabelas .54 hawkin just to see if she is on! first and only shot out of her was in the 2" bull at 75 yards(benched ofcourse) so back to shooting miss flint, Talk about slowing life down and enjoying time fairly cheap! I think I shot maybe 10 shots in 3 1/2 hrs at the range, my son who was with me shot up three boxxes of shotgun shells and I didn't even know it! Hope to get back out this coming week now that turkey hunting is over here!! Oh no pics this time but i will take some next time out!
