OSS Banquet Auction Items

Postby Aeronut » Fri Oct 23, 2015 9:52 pm

Here's a peek at the turkey calls I am donating this year. I brought home a Cedar log from OJAM last March and cut out some blanks. These calls have a glass resonator inside and are topped with a copper strike plate.

These will be a limited edition of four calls.

Now I have to make the strikers.

OK, it's the blind leading the blind. I'm gonna try to get John's pictures of this years OJam knife that's on the What'd You Do Today thread moved to here. Wish me luck and if I don't succeed, one of you computer nerds has John's permission to move it. http://www.tradrag.com/forum/download/f ... =10590&t=1

I'll be bringing a quiver made from River Otter.

Also bringing an oak bow and arrow rack (photos to follow). If time permits, maybe an oak string jig.

Here is the oak bow and arrow rack. Accommodates 3 dozen arrows and 12 bows.
Should have time for one or two string jigs too.

Here's a little something I dreamed up that might actually be practical. Can dress up a string jig only so much, so I thought maybe build a collapsible string jig and a small case for it. It does take up less room

We just finished canning up a batch of Sandhill Plum Jelly and a batch of Concord Grape Jelly from our Garden. It'll be an auction or raffle item. I've already loaded a pair of sister osage billets in the trunk and have the Trade Bow all warm in a new bow sock. We're getting close to being ready. Already told the Secretary and Greyden's teacher that I'll pick him up before lunch Friday. We'll get out of here by 11. :applaud:

Lots of awesome items on here. I am bringing my first brain tan buckskin. I'm sure someone can make a nice quiver or sometching useful out of it.

Like Mike said, I'm going to have to visit with my banker before leaving town. Already seeing several items that need to call Western Oklahoma their new home. Going to be a good auction.

If you think these items look good on this thread, you should have seen them in person. They were all amazing and led us to what is probably our greatest fund raiser ever. It never ceases to amaze me, the talent that our OSS Brothers and Sisters have, and are willing to share for OSS.
To everyone that donated their beautiful and functional items to OSS, all the members of the BOD say a hearty Well Done and Thank you so much. Without your generous help it wouldn't be possible.
And to all who bought raffle tickets and bid for all the beautiful items goes another Huge Thank You.

Now it's on to OJam XII. Look forward to seeing everyone there.
WELL DONE MY FRIENDS. :applaud: :archer2: :archer2: :archer2: :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:
