Today I was given a Bear Grizzly that is a one of a kind and probably the first FF model. This bow was made last year as one of the new prototypes, they're going to use a little different look so its the only one. I did all the tip work, string grooves and shelf work and painted it so the bow kinda special to me. The bow itself is nothing really special to look at. Instead of the brown laminated riser and tip wood it has a black riser a the black and white glass tips. White silkscreen instead of the gold they have been using for years, the ser # is EXP 001 which is kinda cool. Heres my dilema, I really want to shoot this bow and hunt with it this year but being a one of a kind I'd hate to ruin any value it may have down the road. Personally I think bows are made to shoot and not look at and probably wouldn't ever sell it anyway. Do you think a newer Bear would ever be worth enough to leave it in the plastic and save for your kids. I kind of know what I'm going to do but would like to get your thoughts on it first .

It is a tough call but IMO an "Experimental" bow is meant to be "experimented" with....how else are the "experimenters" going to know if it was a success????

Get a set of woodies,Tune it up, do it justice and kill a hog or deer with it. It was made to give a shooter pleasure. All of the show cars have tons of chrome and polished this or that. if the bow was meant to be a show piece it would have gold or silver inlays and expensive exotic wood.
Then, to make it a masterpiece? pass it on to the next generation with the explaination of how it's to be passed to his next generation.

I would probably hang it on the rack and just eyeball it.
