John,
His book is called "Why We Miss"--part tongue-in-cheek; part pre-Kidwell "psychological" analysis of the title subject and target panic, with some great pictures in the book. I have a copy somewhere..I'll dig it out & post some pics.

Have also seen a couple articles he authored somewhere in some vintage archery mags..........

The book was self published and dedicated to Roy & Frida Hoff, so I'm thinking I probably saw his articles in Archery.

here's the cover:

Here are some of Col Elott's reasons "Why we miss" (tongue often firmly planted in cheek), but he uses humor to bring out some valid points about our shooting.

caption of this picture reads: "sometimes we miss because we don't hold our mouths right"
Col Elott 017.JPG

this one reads: "I just can't see where my arrows hit!"

got to run some errands will post some more cool stuff from the book later......

the Col notes that "practice on old shot-up targets develops whole target-missers"

And on a more serious note, the Col. & Mrs. Elott toured the Far East and there are some great photos of their travels & meetings w/ archers of the region.
This pic is entitled: "Grace, Beauty, Charm. What could be more feminine?"

A copy of the book is on eBay.....#190873477100

Price may be a tad high (IMHO), then again it's fairly hard to find........
