where can I get a time line of archery?

Postby newworldmonkey » Thu Jun 06, 2013 5:04 pm

Does anyone know of a comprehensive book or information with a time line of archery history? I have a million questions. When did Fred Bear make his first bow? When did Stemmler make their first bow? How about Kibbe, the Archer's Company, Horseman, F. S. Barnes, Sportcraft, PSE, Grimes, and a ton of others?
When did Fred bear die or how about Saxon Pope or Will Thompson?
When I do a search about something archery related I find tons of misinformation. Just for the heck of it highlight and copy this: Wright & Thorne 1897 . Start a new tab and paste that into your search engine. See how many authorities believe the 1897 patent is correct? There are over 8,000,000 results! They are all wrong because it actually happened in 1879. Someone switched the numbers around and now everyone believes the incorrect date!
I am so serious that I'm thinking about doing it myself (with the help of others, of course).
If anyone knows of a good book for me to buy, please let me know.
I am mostly interested in bows and the companies/bowyers that make them.
Thanks and have a great day everyone,
