true temper steel bows

Postby maryrose » Mon May 05, 2014 9:33 am

hello to to everyone,

I have just acquired two steel bows , both are one piece steel and of a flat oval section.

One bow is an Apollo Kestrel, the other an Apollo Merlin.

Both bows have the usual cork hand grip and have an aluminium shelf above the handgrip which is conifgered for both right hand and left hand archers.

My problem is that the nocks , aluminium inserts, are extremely small and I assume would only accept a wire cord . I have purchased several various diameter inner push bike cables to try but would welcome any advice on forming the loops and in general using the bows.

Many thanks
