FINAL SURGERY ....She's Home

Post by Greywolf » Fri May 14, 2010 11:23 am

If ya guys wouldn't mind.
My best friend,26 yr partner in life and wife got some earth shattering news last week. She had her yearly mammogram with showed some areas of concern. A follow up Ultrasound confirmed Invasive Carcinoma.
She will have surgery on the 25th, News like this shatters lives and turns worlds upside down.
Since she has one yearly it was caught in the very very early stages, so that's the only good to this find.

Prayers sent from New England, Mark.
My mother went through the very same thing with outstanding results. She recovered completely and has had no more occurrences in over 10 years. Your wife is extremely lucky it was caught early.
Wishing her a speedy recovery.

Prayers your way brother.

Give her my best! My mom is a breast cancer survivor so I can somewhat relate to hers and yours emotional state. Call me if you need to.

Glad she found it early and can get it taken care of. Nasty stuff. I'll be thinking of you and the Alpha Female.

We've never been through what you two are going through right now, but I do know what it's like when your lifemate is in harms way.

We are praying for Gods will and the surgeons skill.

Give her a hug and kiss for us.

Re: Couple of Prayers....UPDATE 5/25/10

Post by Greywolf » Tue May 25, 2010 7:04 pm

Afternoon All,

First off I want to say Thank You for the thoughts and Prayers, now for the update.

This morning at 5:30 am we arrived at the surgery center, she had 3 locator wires implanted to help show the surgeon the spots were located that were to be removed. Shorty before 9 am they wheeled her away.
About 2 hours later the surgeon appeared in the waiting room and told me, She felt very confident that the 2 lymph nodes were removed were clear and had no cancer, but only a lab test could confirm that for sure, so we wait for 2 days for the lab results to return. She also said she felt with the most confidence she was able to remove all the cancer and not have to perform a mastectomy, just a lumpectomy as it's called.

My wife is resting comfortable at home right now and has a follow up post surgery appointment next Tuesday. We still have a long road ahead with the 6-8 week radiation treatment that will follow in about a month.

Mark, what good news!! Continued prayer for the upcoming treatment!
Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

I often go hunting and fishing by myself. However, I am never alone. God and Dad are always with me.
